The Glasgow Shopping Experience Is Second To None

One of the most fun things you can do in your spare time is to go on a big Glasgow shopping trip. You see, Glasgow has some of the best retail therapy to be had anywhere in the UK and every week, thousands of shoppers make the trip, quite literally, over land and sea to get there. The main shopping centre is situated, as you might expect in the centre of the city between Argyll Street, Buchanan Street and Sauchiehall Street. The selection of top retail outlets is just mind blowing. The Buchanan Centre alone has over 120 outlet ranging from John Lewis down to niche retailer such as Oasis and Coast, while the ultra-exclusive Princes Square on Buchanan Street caters for the designer labels. Whatever your price range, Glasgow has something to offer. If you are a real bargain hunter, for example, you could try the weekend market at the world famous Barras Market in the East end of the city, or, if you have some cash to burn, perhaps Harvey Nichols or Prada is more your style.

The best thing about the Glasgow shopping experience, however, is the friendly attitude of the staff and the general feeling of welcome. Glaswegians are famously exuberant and are fantastic salespeople by nature and this, of course all adds to the experience. Don’t be afraid to haggle, unless, of course you are in one of the several huge pound shop outlets that can be found along Sauchiehall Street because, lets face it, the prices are already keen enough there as it is.There are also several very good indoor markets where you can find a range of fresh foods, niche items such as acupuncture and alternative health remedies as well as some more, shall we say, interesting types of clothing. If the city centre is not your style then Glasgow also has a number of large malls situated ion the outskirts the city. The Forge at Parkhead, to the east of the city for example has nearly 100 different shops as well as ample parking for thousands of cars. It also well served by local bus routes so getting in and out is about as easy as it gets.

So, for a great day out, and the chance to grab some fantastic bargains, make sure that you plan your Glasgow shopping trip soon. One word of advice though, take plenty of money or make sure that credit card has a healthy limit because you are sure to find many great bargains to tempt you.
